About the project
The Private Residence allowed us to work on a wide aspect of lighting — from facade lighting to landscape lighting. Considering that farmhouses are abodes away from home, where people get away on weekends and holidays to seek respite from the busy schedule of life, our intent was to create a very subtle lighting design adding to the calm vibe around the space.
Design Intent
The design brief called for subtle landscape lighting with the right amount of light and shadow play to bring in a sense of drama while retaining the calm and soothing vibe of nature. Light fixtures by Litolux are used so that no light source can be seen.
The facade lighting design involved lighting up the 3-4 m single-height metal fins to accentuate the natural material of the facade. The grazing effect of light is also used on the hanging canopy of almost 7m. The clean lines of the facade are further accentuated very prominently with linear fixtures by Litolux. Inground uplighting has also been used to light up a feature wall, thereby highlighting the original essence of the farmhouse.
